Data Supported Impact Story

Overview

Developed a set of compelling, data-supported impact stories to demonstrate the effectiveness and scale of Utah's Promise's place-based collective impact work. These stories were crafted for multiple audiences to illustrate the connection between outcomes and strategies, partnerships, and conditions that contributed to and/or made those improvements possible.

Approach

Identified, analyzed, and synethsized the most compelling outcome improvements acheived at the greatest scale, then translated outcome improvements into clear, persuasive narratives supported by high-quality data visualizations.

Key activities included:

• Analyzing longitidunal data to identify significant trends and outcomes improvements
• Reviewing and synthesize 12+ years of historical organizational reports and documentation
• Surfaced explanatory narratives behind the improvements, in partnership with key partners and stakeholders
• Developing publication-ready communication materials for distinct audiences
• Creating clear documentation of analysis processes and data sourcing within organization's existing documentation structures

Outcomes

• Data-supported impact stories with clear descriptions of the outcome improvement, data evidence, and brief narratives
• One-pagers with data and narrative supporting outcome improvements
• A comprehensive PowerPoint deck with data visualizations and supporting narrative
• Clear and complete data sourcing and data notes for each story
• Compelling, publication-ready data visualizations for each story
