Nonprofit-Corporate Impact Measurement

Ashoka · Washington, DC · 2019

Overview

Independently scoped and managed a research project to develop an impact measurement framework for nonprofit-corporate partnerships at Ashoka, the world's largest network of social entrepreneurs. The project was delivered to the corporate partnerships team as both a written report and presentation.

Context

Ashoka's corporate alliances programme connects social entrepreneurs with corporations pursuing social impact. Measuring the impact of these partnerships, which span different sectors, geographies, and definitions of success, required a framework that could accommodate complexity while remaining practical for the partnerships team.

Approach

  • Independently scoped the research question, methodology, and deliverables
  • Reviewed existing literature on partnership impact measurement
  • Developed a framework tailored to the unique dynamics of nonprofit-corporate collaboration
  • Delivered findings as a written report and presentation to the corporate partnerships team

Outcomes

  • Delivered a practical impact measurement framework adopted by the corporate partnerships team
  • Provided a foundation for more consistent impact reporting across Ashoka's corporate alliances
